Location : Address: 6201 S Street, Sacramento, CA





Contractors must have reliable internet, work exclusively within the United States.

• The contractor is expected to be onsite for an initial 3-day orientation and onboarding session at SMUD's Sacramento, CA, office.



• It is also expected that the contractor will be in the office on Wednesdays at least during core hours of 8am-4pm. (Once a week onsite)



• During remote workdays, the Contractor will have reliable internet, cell phone, work, and be made available for any meetings generally scheduled between the hours 9am-5pm, PST.





The Software Quality Automation (QA) Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts for enterprise applications, SAP and other IT platforms.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing business, functional, and technical requirements to define clear and comprehensive test scenarios.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automated testing (functional, system, regression, and performance).

• Minimum 5 years of experience creating and maintaining detailed test scripts and documentation using test management tools.



Technical Requirements

• Expertise in designing and implementing automation frameworks using tools and languages such as Python, UFT, Robot Framework and VB Script

• Strong experience developing and maintaining UFT automation scripts, reusable function libraries, and object repositories for enterprise applications such as SAP and ServiceNow.

• Proficiency in automating API testing using Postman, Robot Framework libraries or equivalent tools



Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of using JIRA, Confluence, ALM, Agile

2 . Give an example of a critical defect you identified late in the testing cycle. How did you investigate the root cause, communicate the issue to the team, and ensure it was properly resolved?



3 . Explain the approach used in preparing and maintaining test data for various environments. How was the automation framework designed to integrate and manage test data effectively?
