Behavioral Connections —Taking Education to the Underprivileged

Behavioral Connections (BC) is America’s one of the most popular educational web applications, offering applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to physically challenged people of all ages. The website grabbed maximum attention of people from the geographical region and beyond due to its unique methods of helping kids to talk. Undoubtedly, the noble cause behind the concept deserves the most credit, albeit the quality web application the Dash team built contributes equally.

Client’s Requirement

Our client Jason Pepin wanted to build a platform that offers home-based and center-based medically necessary “applied behavior analysis” (ABA) services across the USA. He has his ambition to deliver education to all people, albeit the physically disabled people were at the center point. He wanted his vision of “get kids to talk” to be reflected through his website. So, he approached us with his idea to build a web application that perfectly serves his purposes. We heard his concept and were excited to work on such a philanthropic project.

Our Approach

“Go ahead” was the first step for us to hear from our client. Next, we went through the project scope provided by Jason. Then, we studied the project add added our remark with respect to addons and additional features suggested by our research analyst. Finally, we approached the client with the proposal. He much appreciated our suggestions, and he accepted all our recommendations. Once we had the confirmation, we worked through processes to maintain transparency and signed NDA documents.

Our research analyst worked on the tech spec part, and our design team worked on the wireframing simultaneously. We utilized scrum methodology to maintain the deadline and stay constituent with the project scope. Our software engineers started working on the programming part. Our project manager was in constant touch with the client, while our core team was also in sync with the client using the project management tools. We used Zira to manage the team and project. The project was completed by the deadline as specified by our client.

Challenge

We had built various projects in the past, many of which were similar to the current one. So, yes, we did not have any challenges with the project. But yes, we did have to go through a few sleepless nights to tackle the challenges that our client has with this project. He wanted to take this intitivate to all kids with disabilities and those who deserve it. The challenges we had were;

  • Creating a single interface with multi-users
  • Segregating features for each user

Solutions and Tech Stacks

Our business analysts had gone through the research part right in the beginning, so we had to brainstorm over the data we had. Finally, the feature was decided, and we did not face any significant issues while creating components for the patient panel. But, it was done proficiently.

  • We used Angular to create an interactive Frontend.
  • .NET core was used to develop the backend.

The app consisted of three users: Admin, instructor, and patients. Most features were similar for each panel, with a few unique ones. Here’s a list of features we integrated into the app.
